About
Meet Clay Franklin
I bought my first domain in 1994 while I was still working as a strategic business manager at Hewlett Packard Co. I was laid off in 2001 with the HP Compaq merger. Before I left my manager wanted me to document how I was able to pay less for DRAM memory chips than Compaq who had 7x the volume. I did a couple of other jobs before I decided to work for my self in 2003. I started a handyman business charging a high rate and working for high end clients by referral. It was really fun because I love to fix stuff and bought all the tools I ever wanted even a new truck.
I already had a BS in Marketing, yet I went back to college learning cool stuff like Internet Marketing, Photoshop, Dreamweaver, PHP my SQL database architecture, Blogging, SEO, Web Analytics all at night after work. My goal was to work only 20 hours a week. If I needed a job and did not have one lined up I would go to Starbucks and start up a conversation and find work. Just about everyone has a honey do list that does not get done.
In Feb. of 2007 I retired from doing handyman work and became a full time on line business owner. I started massive training to learn everything possible about Internet Marketing.
I started with a Maven Home study class from Rich Schefren and Jay Abraham, followed up with Product Launch
Formula from Jeff Walker, then List Pros from Tellman and Shawn Casey, Simpleology by Mark Joiner, Cash Maps from Mark Joiner (still a member), Traffic Secrets by John Reese, SEO boot camp from Stompernet, Adwords Class from Simon Leung, Mari Smith’s SMM coaching (I am still a member), Traffic Fusion from Mike Filsaime including the Butterfly Marketing script, 7 figure zone from Mike Filsaime and Tom Beal (I am still a member), Teleseminar formula training, Butterfly Marketing site building training, discover autoresponders, and discover freemind from Bob the teacher, Mass Control from Frank Kern, Mass control Monthly and Infomillionaire from Frank Kern and Trey Smith (I am still a member), Simple Writing System from John Carlton, GPS from Rich Schefren (this was a high end personal coaching program with other top marketers including Alex Jeffrys who did his first $100k week during the class). To continue my education I also enrolled in , Lynn Terry’s Elite mastermind coaching (I am still am member and love this group) and Bob the Teacher’s IM success tribe (I am still a member), .
I have also been lucky enough to be able to go on the Marketers Cruise in 2009 and go the the Mass contrtol conference in San Diego in April 2009. I was able to meet Andy Jenkins, Alex Jeffrys, Frank Kern, Trey Smith, Bob the Teacher, Donna Fox, Coach Deb and JP Micek, Harris Fellman, Jason Moffatt, Mike Filsaime, Simone Blum and Jeanett Joy who are now good friends and many others. It is really cool to hang out and get tips from successful marketers. I received wonderful information at the Mass Control event at the bar in the evening from Harris Fellman, Alex Jeffrys, Maria Andros, Trey Smith and Jason Moffatt.
I love to help others and provide special tips and tricks for my email subscribers.
I am a business process expert, project manager, and relationship manager by trade, and a social media expert through experience. On September 17th I was the 13th highest rated person on twitter grader in Silicon Valley with a Grade of 99.97. It changes all the time, yet it was no accident.
I am here to help you with your business by providing training on Social Media Marketing best practices and other cool tips for your business to help you become the Maven in your market.

I love the Thesis word press theme the best. I have been using it on all my sites lately. The Studio Press themes are also very nice like over at my wife’s site at http://cathefranklin.com. I just love the way Thesis is easy to use and especially easy on the eyes to read.

Hey Clay
Wow, after reading your background and all of the courses you’ve gone through, you should definately hold your PhD in Internet Marketing. I’ve probably been through half of the programs you have, and I too, believe they have given me not only the knowledge, but the relationships and motivation to keep me plugging away at my very first ecommerce site. I’ve been in Corporate Marketing for more than 20 years, but none of that prepared me for todays world of social commerce.
Thank you for being so open with all you’ve learned, and from an Affiliate Marketers point of view… I just want to add that this is one of the best sites I’ve ever seen that mixes great content with affiliate offers in a very subtle, palatable way! Great Job.
