For me I think 1,6,9 are the most important thinks that a newbie should follow. Co’z most of the time. Newbie tend to consume much time reading many idea’s on how to start earning online. They forgot that they have to carefully plan, execute and monetize.

In times like this I always remember the saying that out of 1000 person’s wanting to earn online only a few are able to earn steadily.

These are wonderful tips you have here. Many people who start working online usually give up so fast because they lack good advice like the one offered in this post. I am a strong believer in hard work and I believe it pays greatly. Hard work however is not enough as you have to combine it with other things like good meditation and clear thinking so as to achieve success.

I know this post is over a year old, but I wanted to add something.

Most people that try to make money online are typically lazy. Although there are self-motivated people out there, the majority of online marketers want to make money without really earning it.

I guess my best tip to readers would be to stop surfing the internet as much and actually get work done. Remember, hard work is painful to do, so if you feel this way most of the time, then you know you are getting things done.

Robert, I agree #2 is the most difficult for me. I usually do not get in 2 hours of focused work before I get distracted by the dogs barking or any number of things.
Eben Pagen suggests we take a 10 minute break every 50 minutes and work in the morning without reading email every few minutes. Eben suggests reading email later in the day after the most important tasks are completed for the day.

I also have to agree with tip #2 because when working from home that is one of the biggest things for most people since your family is always there and they really don’t usually consider you “working” and will call you for every little thing. You just need to have a nice room to yourself free of distractions. Don’t forget to take breaks and move around.. I often find myself locked to the computer and before you know it the day is gone. It is not healthy so make sure to break up the day.

I started my blog for my consulting practise and then I started another site for affliate marketing to get into it for a second income source. I get easily distracted (#2) with what to do first for my blogs for example – start another blog, make a video for better ranking, get back links, write another posting, etc. This is a great posting to make a journal and make a lotments of time for each. I think your #2 tip (don’t get distracted) is so important. As marketers we are probably on every one’s list and we constantly get bombarded with all the email promotions. There are at least a dozen product launches every week all promising to the next big thing. I realized early on if I want to have any degree of success, I have to focus on just one thing and follow it through. I think most people would jump from one system to another, never give anything sufficient time to make it work. Thanks for the tips.

Something I encourage all newbies to do is to make a list of things they want to achieve, lets say a financial goal. Then work backwards to break that list down in tasks which will get you to that goal. For example, if i want to earn $1000 from Halloween in 2010 then maybe I need to make 10 websites, for 10 websites I might need 20 articles…once youve got the list get to action!
