The Phone is Everywhere!

by Clay Franklin

I just realized that in a short not so distant future my phone will be with me even when it is not with me. It will know if I am near with its body mass unique chemistry analysis scanners. It will be tied into my alarm system at my home, so it will know I am in the kitchen making a bacon and egg sandwich. And that I toasted the bread. It does not need to be a smart toaster. Those come later.
Who needs cable? I have my phone and it streams everything I want to watch to any viewing surface in the area I am in unless of course the area I am in is “secured”. Secured is boring so most places use “open cloud connect”™.

Our phones with GPS, cameras, vidoes, audio, microphones, wireless, are enablers of a connected world where your Facebook friends will know what you are up to through your phone and its gps and all the other stuff listed above. Unless of course there is the “stealth” mode. But that only works if someone with “open” turned on does not come over to visit you …and you live alone.

Now back to work!!!

moral of the story: start collection phone numbers along with the email address. You only loose about 5% of the customers and it will pay off big time later as web 3.0 and cloud computing take off.
If you do not already have an autoresponder, I suggest you get one right away to collect phone numbers of your prospects and clients. I use Profollow since it is owned by my mentor, Jeff Walker but you can use aweber just as well. These are the services that get delivered.

You make a good point about collecting phone numbers. I’ve been using my telephone to follow up with clients instead of e-mail and have increased my sales by about 10%.

I confess I use my cell phone only for e-mail and as a last resort. I never seem to be able to dig it out of my briefcase in time to take a call and I’m annoyed with people who put their cell on the table during out meeting ..

cell usage is still very expensive in Canada, doing anything but e-mail and short conversations makes no sense.
