While usually i find advertisement txt messages on my phone invasive I might still consider going this route. It does seem promising. Sometimes it’s a fine line between merely informing people about your product and being a nuisance…
Generally a weekly text message with a coupon or special is about right. The exception is when you are sending out food specials like at 11:30 every day when people are deciding where they want to go for lunch.
I have also been skeptical about text marketing in the past but I like your suggestion. Sending out coupons during good hours every once in a while might be efficient and may seem less of a nuisance.

It’s not that difficult to think most people in the next ten years will probably be working for themselves. The days of working 9-5 and a boss hanging over you will soon be gone. Freelancing will be driven by capable and willing participants who will only charge for the work done.
SMS marketing will be huge for customer service; reminders, transactions, delivery notifications, delay updates but its still a very intrusive medium to advertise through.

Text marketing is huge and the marketing needs to be done in a strategic way to maximize the positive feeling for the person receiving the text.
The frequency to send text messages may be weekly, for alerts “new house for sale you are looking for” or bring in customers during a slow period at a bar with a special, or lunch specials sent every weekday just before lunch time.
Good thing that text marketing in the US requires a users permission.
Never thought of this before. However, I do know a person in Sweden charged for his website services (membership etc.) through cell phones and text messages. It was the main income of the site. This site was subsequently sold for around $20,000.
